‘The Mundane’, a project resulting from artist mentoring programme run by Space London.

This photographic series examines single-use translucent objects and the ephemeral qualities of light and shadow.

I am interested in exploring single-use objects and their user's behaviour. These items receive full attention at the design, making and performance stages however almost immediately loose importance once their purpose is fulfilled. I re-purpose these objects as vessels for an alternative performance, revealing the inner structure with sunlight and distorting our perception of these once familiar objects. This process manipulates the expected appearance of an object, defamiliarises it and the momentarily confusion over what we are looking at narrate a different story from the object's original role in life.
